Reliable audio uploads at the edge
The small infrastructure choices that make large, private files feel effortless.
Audio files are large enough to expose every weak point in an upload flow. Networks change, browser tabs close, and a request that works for a small image can fail halfway through a studio bounce.
Upload directly, authorize first
tapedeck authorizes an upload before issuing a short-lived storage URL. The audio can then travel directly to object storage without passing through an application server, while ownership and storage keys remain controlled by the backend.
Larger files use multipart uploads so an interrupted transfer does not have to begin again from zero. The original is kept private, and playback derivatives are created separately.
Reliability here is not a loading animation. It is making sure an artist never has to wonder whether the only copy of a new idea arrived safely.
